Field Shelters: Technical Information
The following specifications are standard to all stuctures we manufacture.
External Cladding
19 x 120mm (finished size) loglap shiplap fixed with 50mm triple life ring-shanked nails. Rainwater skirt fitted to all backs and end walls to prevent water ingression at base of partitions.
Framework
Constructed of 3 x 2 CLS graded timber with vertical studwork at approx 600mm centres. Wind bracing fitted on all unlined structures. Double studwork on all door apertures and further CLS timber bracing fitted at 1.230m.
Fixing to the Base
Bolted to base by frame fixings at 1.2m centres directly into concrete base. Further brackets used both sides of all door apertures.
Internal Lining
Stables are kick-boarded to 1.220m height as standard with 18 OSB. Dividing partitions are also lined in 18 OSB to eaves height (2.2m) on the one side.
Overhang / Canopy
1.2m overhang plus guttering. 3 x 2 CLS framing with 6mm extra ply.
Roofing Structure
The depth of the building is 3.6m with a 1.2m overhang. The ridge height is 3.3m not including a single course of brickwork. Different ridge heights apply to alternative designs. The sawn purlins are between 100 x 47mm spaced at 600mm centres dependant on width of building.
Roofing Finishes
Black onduline with black onduline ridge cap. Both alternative colours and clear roofing sheets are available, although at an additional cost.
Guttering
112mm black Upvc gutters fitted with 68mm down pipes to front elevation. Guttering to the rear elevation is available at an extra charge.
Tack Rooms / Feed Rooms
Half lined with 18mm OSB. Adjacent trusses lined with 18mm OSB internally. Windows and clear roof sheets are not recommended for these rooms.
Treatment – Exterior Finish
All timbers, with exception of sheet materials, are vacuum pressure treated British Standard approved presertives. Alternative colours are available in some instances. Some constructions may require additional treatment either during erection or shortly thereafter.
